Outreach to Disadvantaged Communities
One of the primary purposes of the IRWM Plan Update is to understand the critical water supply and water quality needs of the Region's disadvantaged communities (DACs). Targeted outreach meetings are being held with representatives of DACs in both urban and rural areas.

Outreach to Tribes
Targeted outreach meetings are also being held with the Region's Tribes and Native American stakeholder groups. The purpose of these outreach meetings is provide as much information as possible to the various Tribes in the Region so that their individual and collective concerns regarding water management can be included and addressed in the IRWM Plan Update.

The Tribal Water Stories of Coastal Southern California was produced during the outreach to the Tribes that was conducted as part of the 2013 IRWM Plan development, and incorporated into the 2013 IRWM Plan as Appendix 4-A. This document is available here: Tribal Water Stories.
